Which UDIT FP has more opportunities according to your profile: DAM, DAW, ASIR, AFI or A3D.
Looking for the VET "with the most opportunities" seems like a reasonable way of deciding, but in reality it is often oversimplified. What really matters is not only how many opportunities a cycle generates, but what kind of opportunities it generates and for what kind of student. There are degrees with a lot of insertion that do not fit your way of thinking, and other less massive ones that can open up a much more natural path for you if your profile is well oriented.
In the case of DAM, DAW, ASIR, AFI and A3D, the comparison only makes sense if it is done with some precision. They do not belong to the same professional territory, do not require the same kind of skills and do not lead to similar tasks. The only thing they have in common is that they are both higher degree options with potential, each for different reasons.
In addition, there is an objective basis to keep in mind. The Ministry of Education published in 2025 that the average enrolment rate in the first year after graduation was 36.2% in Intermediate Level and 51.1% in Higher Level, and within the Higher Level the families of Computer Science and Communications, Mechanical Manufacturing and Installation and Maintenance stood out above the average. The data is here.
If you think about employability, Computer Science has the advantage
Of the five cycles that you compare, three are in the area that today comes out best when you look at insertion: DAM, DAW and ASIR. This does not oblige you to choose them, but it does explain why they appear so often in the searches of students who want a vocational training course with a relatively clear career path.
The Higher Degree in Multiplatform Applications Development (DAM) fits profiles that enjoy programming and want to work with software beyond the pure web. It is a good option if you are attracted by logic, databases, building applications and a fairly versatile technical profile.
The Higher Degree in Web Application Development (DAW) is more focused on the web ecosystem: frontend, backend, deployment, interfaces, services and digital product. It tends to be the most natural choice if you see yourself working with websites, platforms or online tools.
The Higher Degree in Administration of Networked Computer Systems (ASIR) takes a different route. Here the focus is not on developing products, but on managing infrastructure, services, connectivity and network environments. If you are interested in systems, networks or security, you will normally have more of a route here than in a development cycle.
When the output does not depend only on the volume of demand
Not everything is decided in technology. The Bachelor's Degree in Administration and Finance (AFI) has a different strength: it does not focus on a specific sector, but is useful in almost any company. This makes it a particularly transversal degree for profiles that work well in organisation, management, processes, documentation, control and administrative-financial support.
In other words: AFI may not enter the conversation as brightly as the technological cycles, but it would be a mistake to treat it as a secondary option. For someone with a more structured, more analytical and less technical profile, it may be a far more logical choice than pursuing a "trendy" IT degree.
The opposite is true for 3D Animation, Games and Interactive Environments (A3D). It is not as in-demand as DAM, DAW or AFI, but it is not a marginal pathway either. In 2025, the SEPE registered 1,851 contracts linked to people with this qualification, which confirms that there is a professional market, although it is more specialised and less massive than in other families. The annual record is here.
Higher Level Vocational Training with high employability (2026)
DAM
Good option for those who want a solid base in programming and multiplatform development. Makes sense if you enjoy solving technical problems and don't mind dedicating time to a fairly structured work logic.
DAW
More suitable if your interest is in web development, connected environments and digital product. It tends to attract profiles that want to see what they build working in browser or online services.
ASIR
Best suited to students interested in infrastructure, systems administration, network services and a possible continuum towards IT security. Requires a way of thinking more oriented to the inner workings of technological environments.
AFI
Very useful for organised, methodical profiles with an interest in business management. It has a wide scope because it responds to needs present in many companies, not only in a specific sector.
A3D
The most specific and creative option of the group. It works best if you have a real motivation for visual production, animation, video games or interactive environments. If you choose A3D, you should do it for vocation and fit, not just for statistical calculation.
Intermediate and Advanced Level: they don't play with the same expectations
Before comparing employability, it is important to make something basic clear: a Bachelor's Degree and a Bachelor's Degree do not usually open the same type of door. It is not just a question of academic level, but also of the kind of functions you are likely to enter at the beginning.
The bachelor's degree can be a valid entry if you need a more progressive route or if you are still building a foundation. The Grado Superior, on the other hand, tends to offer higher insertion and access to more highly skilled roles. The Ministry's own statistical portal on labour market insertion of VET graduates allows you to follow this difference in more detail.
Therefore, if you are already considering DAM, DAW, ASIR, AFI or A3D, the correct comparison is not with an equivalent intermediate degree, but between higher-level professional projects that require different profiles.
On-site or distance VET: the question is often asked incorrectly
Many people try to solve this question by asking what companies "value more", but the wording is not very well formulated. If the qualification is official, the academic value does not change because of the fact of studying on-site or by distance learning. The Ministry includes the official offer of distance VET as part of the regulated system.
The relevant difference is not usually on paper, but in the process. In cycles with a high technical, practical or project workload, the face-to-face mode can provide better monitoring, direct contact and work pace. Distance learning can work well for very autonomous people, with good organisation and real capacity to sustain learning without so much external structure.
So the comparison should not be made so much in terms of "prestige", but in terms of fit with your way of studying. Choosing the wrong mode of study can affect your preparation more than the formal value of the qualification.
Which VET programme to choose in order to work properly?
Before enrolling, it is advisable to check several layers.
The first is the professional family. There are sectors that today have better insertion than others, and to deny this would be absurd.
The second is the actual content of the job. A cycle can have a good start and have nothing to do with you. That mistake is paid for later.
The third is the type of profile required. DAM and DAW are not interchangeable with AFI. ASIR does not respond to the same type of student as A3D. Making the right choice requires honesty about what you are good at and what you are not.
The fourth is the specific centre. The name of the cycle is not enough. Methodology, practice, accompaniment, projects and professional orientation change the experience and the result quite a lot.
